Hi There!
I hope you are travelling well.
Here’s the latest Kindness news… I hope it gives you a lift 😊
Last month we held another Thank you Thursday!
A few of us brought morning tea treats to our Kind Café Missy Moos Coffee, and we coloured in cards and created a tearoom gift hamper with our donations.
We wanted to thank the amazing team from the In-patient Oncology Ward Townsville University Hospital.
You may not know that Nicki from Missy Moos is a cancer survivor.
When I organised to drop the hamper, Paula from the unit said ‘Wow, that sounds amazing, what an awesome thing to do.
As you know I am sure everyone will appreciate the hamper.
We do what we do because we love it and all of the patients make our job a rewarding experience.”
Thank you team.
We appreciate you.
I was very fortunate to enjoy another trip to…
the hospital (you don’t hear those words often LOL).
This trip was organised by our super-kind sponsor Donna Glass from Helen Munro Property.
For Random Act of Kindness Day Donna bought 100 scratch its and lollies and we handed them out to staff and patients around the hospital, in the foyer, carpark, and at Palliative Care.
I also handed out some chocolates and Pocket Hugs.
Thanks so much to the Brighter Lives team for your help.
They were well received.
Though I noted many of the staff had big hearts, suggesting we give them to someone more deserving.
We told them they deserved them too.
Next up was the International Women’s Day Wine Down event…
run by the awesome team from the Community Information Centre Townsville.
I personally found it really inspiring to hear from the 4 speakers- Sandra from NOTCH, Teresa from the Community Information Centre, Kathrin from Community Gro and Paula from Althea Projects.
Their insights are still rattling around in my head, for future life application.
The raffle on the night was a night for two at Mercure, plus breakfast, donated by Mercure.
The Kindness Catalyst was generously offered the opportunity to sell tickets and we made over $900!
We can’t wait to start delivering Pay it Forward Pick me up Packs.
They really brighten people’s days when they are received.
As Helen said, each item in the box is like a little hug.
If you have a friend who is feeling low…
you can purchase one on our website www.thekindnesscatalyst.com.au
We offer free Townsville delivery and we also deliver Australia wide.
The cost is $35 and $10 from each sale funds our Community Kindness Events.
During our monsoon event, we asked people to…
nominate someone to win a Pick me up Pack.
Last week we delivered one to Jo from Opti Eats/ Build a Bowl Eatery.
Here shop was inundated by water three times!
We had to sample her food- yum!!
And it’s a 100% gluten free café.
Please show her some love as she is still struggling.
Community highlight:
Someone is hiding $5 notes around the place for people to find!
How beautiful.
Missy Moos is turning 1! And you’re invited…
to the party 😊
This Friday we’d love to see you there from 10.30-12 for free cake and games, Angle Paws puppy cuddles, Pocket Hugs and a Harmony Day recipe share.
Hope you can come! (or at least pop in) Here’s the Facebook link https://www.facebook.com/share/1KVsCvj68R/
FYI you can also find our events on the website www.thekindnesscatalyst.com.au
Networking for Kindness is back on 9-10.30 Friday April 4…
at our other café Sticks and Grinds Café.
This is a good one for both business and community group reps to get to know each other.
Tickets are just $25 and include coffee, cake and a $10 donation to North Townsville Community Hub (NOTCH).
Here’s the booking link… https://events.humanitix.com/networking-for-kindness
Don’t let the Deeragun location deter you, it’s only 10 minutes from town.
And if you’re Northern Beaches based, it’s a great chance to meet other Northern Beaches reps.
And come check out our Community Kindness painting hanging on the wall.
Special thanks to our generous sponsor Donna Glass, from Helen Munro Property for her continual support!
And lastly, we have a Ripple Story…
A friend of mine who teaches on the Sunshine Coast messaged me to say that she is so inspired by our kindness work that she has started a lunchtime Kindness Group for the students.
Wow!!!
May those ripples keep spreading 😊
Take care
Fiona and Steve
